From
the sophistication of Park Avenue in the concrete canyons
of New York City, to the frozen climes of Iceland near
the Arctic Circle, to the steamy bush
of the Central American and African jungles, and just
about everywhere in between, he has lived life to the
fullest!
After a tour of duty flying
as an aircrewman with the U.S Navy that included
being a part of the recovery team in NASA's Gemini Space
program, Allen returned to New York, married Alice,
and went to work for a large corporation in New York
City as a consultant.
A
radical encounter with the risen Jesus Christ in the
mid 1970's changed his life totally. There came a day
when Jesus said to Allen, "You've had your life.
Now it's Mine." After studies in a mainline seminary
and a street ministry in New York City, he then served
as the pastor of a church in the suburbs of the City,
and for many years hosted a radio broadcast on both
secular and religious stations in New York, Florida,
and the Caribbean entitled, "Yesterday, Today and Forever."
In
the early 1980's, Allen and Alice traveled
across the United States as he preached and taught,
and they sang together in churches of more than a dozen
denominations.
After
this they founded a church and Christian
school (pre-K to 12th grade) in central Florida.
It was from there that they were called to enter the
mission field leaving in 1989 for the Central American
bush.
Returning
to live in the United States after the events detailed
in this book, Allen and Alice began a ministry dedicated
to preaching and teaching about the practical application
of God's Word in people's everyday life - at home, at
work, in every part of life. He continues to conduct
seminars
on biblical principles in the workplace across the
United States and around the world.
In
