Our trips to Africa have given us the opportunity to preach of our Lord Jesus Christ to thousands of people, to small churches, groups of pastors, and to individuals throughout Christian areas, in parts of the country that were predominately pagan (native religions), and in heavily Muslim areas.

Before the wheels left the runway in Orlando, Florida, the adventure began! With less than 24 hours to go before we were scheduled to leave for our first trip to Africa, we had still not received our passports and visas back from the Embassy of Cameroon in Washington, DC. They had made a mistake and sent somebody else’s passport to us—ours were still sitting in their offices and I was holding the passport of a man in Atlanta, Georgia.
A mad scramble had taken place the day before with FedEx packages being dropped off in Washington, Orlando, and Atlanta—and we had to trust that indeed we had heard from the Lord that He wanted us in Africa and nothing could stop that. So we continued to make all of our preparations in the face of what seemed to be an increasingly impossible situation.

The call came in late in the morning; our passports had arrived and we were off on what was to be an incredible month of ministry taking us from the hustle and bustle of the largest commercial city, to the capital, to a very pagan village on the seacoast, to the deep jungle to visit a pygmy village, to the sub-Saharan north where the minarets of Moslem mosques dominated the view in every direction.

Thus began what has become an ongoing ministry that continues to grow into ever more exciting opportunities for building the Kingdom of God. Click the links at the left to take a look at our photo album or to see a map of Cameroon.

It was a good place to end, so I shut up and stepped down. Then it was off to Northampton.
